Here I am writing a blog to you (yes, you). I don't know how you found me, but I'm happy you're here. It's an interesting relationship we have.
I've been thinking a lot about how social media has changed the way we interact... In an effort to stay connected, I often find myself glued to my phone, ready for whatever the next buzz could signal. It's a strange and interesting way to live. Particularly for someone who's job as an actor is to dig in and understand how we humans work. And then on top of that, as a performer, I now can have contact with those watching my work through twitter, facebook and this very blog. This is very different than the actors that I grew up watching. I find it to be simultaneously exciting and intimidating...
As this has been on my mind, I found myself discussing a lot of these questions with my friend (and talented singer & actress!) Abigail Wright. She recommended I check out an article about building an online reputation. It's a great article that discusses our changing world and illustrates how online presence is something that is vital. It goes on to celebrate the ability and power we have to shape and define how we are seen.
What do you think of all this?
